Hi,
My name is Jeremy Tracey and I am the owner/operator of the Waterloo location for Fitness Kickboxing Canada. I want to take a couple minutes to tell you a little bit about me personally.
My wife Elaine and I have lived locally for the past few years with our three sons aged 6, 8 and 10. Prior to that, we lived in Nova Scotia where we were both grew up. I was raised a farm boy and have always enjoyed being active and love a good physical challenge.
When I am not working or kickboxing I am generally spending time with my family. We play baseball or Frisbee in the back yard and maybe go for a walk or bike ride, other times I help my boys practice their sport of choice, Tai Kwon Do. We also challenge each other to stunts and feats of balance on our stabilty balls etc. Click here to see photos of our latest adventure/challenge.
I read and learn as much as possible about the latest theories and techniques dealing with personal training. I also enjoy reading and listening to personal development programs dealing with cutting edge motivation and things like neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Tai chi, Qi Gong, meditation and energy exercises are extremely interesting to me as well.
I am a people person; I enjoy meeting new people and building friendships. I look forward to meeting you soon, hopefully at one of our fitness kickboxing classes.
My Testimonial for Fitness Kickboxing
As a participant:
I travel to our head franchise in Orangeville to partake in classes and courses on an on-going basis.
I find kickboxing to be one of the best workouts I can do, either with a partner, in class or alone on a heavy bag I just love it. I am not a big fan of most traditional cardio workouts; in fact I wish you luck catching me on a treadmill or stationary bike for anything more than a demonstration. To each their own, but I get bored silly using that type of equipment.
Kickboxing has both a cardio and a resistance element all rolled into one awesome activity. It is such a good tired when you are done, exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. The moves are simple enough that you can put forth a lot of effort but come with enough variation to keep it fresh, exciting and always wanting more.
As a Trainer:
This is my favourite type of training I do and here are a few reasons why:
-
It is very interactive, rather than standing by while others are working out, when I am holding the pads I am right in there working right along with them and we are feeding off each other’s energy and enthusiasm.
-
Learning curve, people can do so much more then they think they can. Each session or class can see progress, in the area of skill, speed, strength, co-ordination or cardiovascular endurance. I love to watch the participants who used to be really challenged by the most basic movements as they perform 6, 8 or even a 10 move combination and look right at home doing it.
-
Gradable workout, what I mean by that is I can adjust the workout to any fitness level. For a beginner in not the best shape, we can slow it down a bit and maybe take longer breaks as needed but still keep it challenging. For those who are athletic and in great shape, I speed it up, complicate the combos and push them hard enough to have them dog tired when we are done.
-
Social aspect of the classes, the class members get to know each other by name and develop friendships. Everyone gets sufficiently worked out but there are a lot of laughs to be had along the way. Thank you to the members for that.
-
Functionality of the training, the very nature of this workout with all the twisting and multi-directional movements strengthens stabilizing muscled and not just the prime movers lending itself well to everyday living.
Probably the best thing about running Fitness Kickboxing Canada classes is hearing from the participants about their experience and enjoyment of the class. As well as the other areas of their lives that are made easier by their increased strength and co-ordination.
